The Paola Police Department is soliciting a highly motivated individual for the full-time position of police officer. The City of Paola is located 18 miles south of Olathe, Kansas and the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. The Paola Police Department consists of 17 sworn officers and 7 civilian employees as well as its own communications and detention centers. Those selected to fill this position will be responsible to enforce local, state, and federal laws, investigating crimes, enforcing traffic regulations, investigating traffic accidents, assisting the public, and serving a department that takes pride in serving and protecting its community. State Certified Officers are preferred, but not required.
Type: Full Time.
Salary: Starting salary for certified officers is 36,067 to $38,591 yearly, depending on qualifications. Other benefits include sick, vacation, and personal leave, furnished uniforms and equipment, health, dental, life insurance plans and Kansas Police and Fire Retirement.
Minimum Requirements:Must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, good physical condition, no felony or serious misdemeanor convictions or domestic violence convictions, possess a high school or GED diploma, and be a US citizen. Must be able to pass a written and oral board examination, drug screen, physical fitness, physical exam, polygraph,and psychological exam. Certified Law Enforcement applicants must not have any Brady/Giglio material in background to be eligible for hiring. Candidate must reside within a 30 minute response time within 6 months of hire.
