Concession Stand and Admissions:                                                                                 Friendly, helpful staff wanted. Cash handling skills required.  Must be 15 years old by May 15, 2018.

Public Works - Maintenance Worker (posted 01/25/18)

The City of Paola has an opening for a full time Maintenance Worker in the Public Works Department. 

Minimum requirements: 

  • At least one year as entry level laborer.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral directions and safety practices.
  • Ability to operate a variety of construction and maintenance equipment and hand power equipment.
  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent
  • Valid Class B CDL driver’s license or ability to obtain.
  • Must pass criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen and physical examination.

A motor vehicle record (MVR) check will be made to determine acceptance of past driving record.

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral directions.
  • Ability to operate a push mower and weed eater.
  • Valid driver’s license and criminal background check may be required.
  • Must be able to provide proof of surety bond in the amount of $50,000
  • Must be able to provide your own Recreational Vehicle to live in at the Campgrounds(No Buses, Vans, Pop-up Campers, or Tents)
  • Seasonal position from April 1st through Labor Day weekend

Police Officer, Paola Police Department (Posted 02/05/2018)

The Paola Police Department is currently seeking motivated individuals for the full time position of Police Officer. The City of Paola is located 18 miles south of Olathe, Kansas and the Greater Kansas City Metro Area. The Paola Police Department consist of 18 sworn Officers and 7 civilian employees as well as it's own communications and detention centers. Those selected to fill this position will be responsible for enforcing local, state, and federal laws, investigating crimes, enforcing traffic regulations, investigating traffic crashes, assisting the public, and serving on a TEAM that takes great pride in serving and protecting its community. State certified officers are preferred but not required.

TYPE: Full Time

SALARY: Starting salary range $36,795. - $39,319. DOQ. Other benefits include sick, vacation, and personal leave, furnished uniforms and equipment, health, dental, and life insurance plans, and Kansas Police & Fire (KP&F) retirement

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, must possess a valid Driver's License, must be in good physical condition, must have no felony, serious misdemeanor, or Domestic Violence convictions, be a U.S. citizen, possess a High School diploma or GED, and must be able to pass a written and oral exam, drug screen, physical fitness, physical exam, polygraph, and psychological. Certified Law Enforcement Officers must not have any Brady/Giglio material in their background to be eligible for hiring.
