The Paola Police Department is soliciting highly motivated individuals for the full time position of Police Officer. The City of Paola is located 18 miles south of Olathe, Kansas and the greater Kansas City Metro area. The Paola Police Department consists of 17 sworn officers and 7 civilian employees as well as its own communications and detention center. Those selected to fill this position will be responsible for enforcing local, state, and federal laws, investigating crimes, enforcing traffic regulations, investigating traffic accidents, assisting the pubic and serving a department that takes pride in serving and protecting its community and state. State certified officers are preferred.
Salary & Benefits
Starting salary range is $36,795.20 - $39,319.00 yearly DOQ. Other benefits include sick, vacation, and personal leave, furnished uniforms and equipment, health, dental and life insurance plans, and Kansas Police & Fire (KP&F) retirement.
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, must possess a valid driver's license, must be in good physical condition, have no felonies, serious misdemeanors, or domestic violence convictions, be a US citizen, possess a high school diploma or GED, and must be able to pass a physical agility examination, written and oral board exam, comprehensive background investigation, polygraph examination, psychological examination, and a drug screening. Certified law enforcement officers must not have any Brady/Giglio material in background to be eligible for hiring.
